A Good Pair of Early Tudor Oak Panels
Often referred to as "blind" tracery, the 6 arched windows are surmounted by 2 interlocking semi-circles, with a trefoil design embellishment to the centre of each arch.
It is interesting and worth noting the shadows of the carver's gouge chisel grinning through the patina in the recessed parts of the panel.
English, circa 1450-1500.
Width 16 inches by height 9 inches.
